Past missions: Selected as a pilot by NASA in July 2000, Boe reported to the Johnson Space Center in August 2000. Future missions: Boe is assigned as pilot on STS-126 targeted for launch in October, 2008. Endeavour will carry a reusable logistics module that will hold supplies and equipment, including additional crew quarters, a second treadmill, equipment for the regenerative life support system and spare hardware.

NASA has recently launched the phoenix mission. Research this mission under the following headings.

The Phoenix lander targets this circumpolar region using a robotic arm to dig through the protective top soil layer to the water ice below and ultimately, to bring both soil and water ice to the lander platform for sophisticated scientific analysis.

Unit 3.3 The life of a star
Q1. A nebula is a vast cloud of gas and dust in space.
Q2. The main fuel in stars is hydrogen.
Q3. Burns hydrogen, red giant, burns helium, white dwarf
Q4. The limited hydrogen fuel will run out and our Sun will expand to form a red giant and eventually collapse to form a white dwarf. A star with a mass of ten Suns uses up its fuel more rapidly and becomes a blue supergiant and then expands to form a red supergiant which collapses, causing a supernova, resulting in a neutron star.
Q5. A pulsar is a rapidly rotating neutron star with a strong magnetic field. It emits radio waves that sweep across space.
Q6. A black hole is formed by the collapse of a star the size of many Suns.
Q7. We cannot see black holes because light cannot escape from them. We know they exist because of the X-rays emitted by them, and the behaviour of nearby stars.
Q8. The elements were produced when stars collapsed.
Q9. Blue supergiant, red supergiant, supernova, neutron star
Q10. You could not lift it.
Q11. Our region of the galaxy rotates around (rather than falling into) the black hole.

1. Has your image of Jesus changed during the project? How or Why not?
I believe that my image of Jesus hasn’t changed because I still depicted Jesus in similar ways. But also that I usually picture Jesus as many things, I don’t really have one image of him.
2. What do you feel is the best way to portray an image of Jesus and why?
The best way to depict Jesus is by really thinking of how you actually see in him as a person/spirit. It is important to look deep down inside yourself and find that right image the personally shows Jesus the way you what him to be shown.3. What have you enjoyed about the project so far and what would you do differently?
I have enjoyed learn the different ways Jesus has been depicted and panted through out history. It was really interesting how depending one what events are happening through out that time, affect on how people feel and how they will paint their artworks. I don’t think I would do anything differently at this point in time.

1) What form of medium (music, art or literature ) allows you to best connect with Jesus and Why;
I believe that the medium that best allows me to connect with God is through the form of art. I think art would be the best form of medium because I like to visualize things (in this case Jesus), but not only that I like to see how other people have interpreted Jesus in different ways.
2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?
Jesus has been portrayed in many ways throughout history because certain thing happen during that period in time which will affect how Jesus will be depicted. This isn’t just with Jesus, it also affects general artworks. Also through time there has been various changes in styles and types of paintings which also would of affected how Jesus would of been portrayed.
3) How is Jesus portrayed at Parramatta Marist?
Jesus is portrayed here at Parramatta Marist through the hard work of teachers, making an effort to guide us through the early stages of our lives and prepare us for the future. In religion classes we learn more of Jesus traditionally by text and books but we have now moved on and looked into learning through the internet and videos (PBL), which I think has helped the way we all look and depict Jesus.
4) What artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?
I believe that the time period of the Renaissance would be the best to represent my Image of Jesus because to me I think that The way art was painted then would and does still stand out till now. I also think that the different technique that were used during this time really shaped and helped how artists would and can depict Jesus.
5) Identify one image of Jesus that appeals to you. What do you like about the representation?

One image of Jesus that best appeals to me is the image above^. I like the simplicity of the image and the way it is actually painted. It gives the sense that Jesus is open to everyone and anyone. Also to never judge Jesus for who he is.

Words – Love, kindness, peace, trust, caring, hope, sharing, strong, sacrifice, respect, beautiful, loyalty, forgiveness.

2) Why might it be important for young people to identify with an image of Jesus?
It is important for young people to recognise images of Jesus because it will help them in the future, if they come across any problems. If they can recognised Jesus and know that he can be in many forms then they will know they are never alone in the world.
3) Where in your life do you most associate with images of Jesus?
I usually associate Jesus in my life when times are tough and when I or even my family needs help to get over things. Also when a relative passes away, i know they will be in a better place – with Jesus/God.

The purpose of he rubric is to help as a guide for the group and yourself. It basically tells you what you are going to be marked on and were your work currentlly stands – either ‘E’ to ‘A’.
3. How can you use the rubric to get the best possible mark?
To get the best possible mark out of the resource of your rubric, you need and should first check and read it at the begining of each task (focusing on the grade ‘A’ mark). Then as you work through the weeks, recheck it to see if you are still on track and to see if you are reaching for that top mark.

a) Hubble’s involvement in space research:
Ever since the Hubble Space telescope was launched in 1990, our knowledge of the universe has increased dramatically. The telescope orbits our Earth while taking pictures of the great distances of space. With many accurate readings (has revealed that our universe is 13 to 14 billion years old, compared to the previous assumpshion of 10 to 20 billion years), this is one telescope that will help us advance and broaden our knowledge of space for now and the future.
b) What the space telescope does:
The Hubble space telescope is one of the most long lasting and successful missions NASA has produced. What it mainly does is takes pictures of the universe. It is able to take pictures of great distances – far greater than a ground-based telescope.
c) Where is it:
The telescope orbits our Earth. It is positioned above the atmosphere.
d) What Hubble’s constant is:
The Hubble Constant (Ho) is one of the most important numbers in cosmology because it is needed to estimate the size and age of the universe.
